The Missed Call Banking service of ESAF SFB provides the customers the convenience of getting information about the account Balance and mini statement.

Registration Process

Balance enquiry using USSD:

  • Dial *99# from your registered mobile number to initiate the USSD session.
  • Please enter the short name of the bank to be confirmed or the first 4 letters of the IFSC code to be confirmed.
  • After entering valid IFSC code or short name, a menu will appear with different options of available services.
  • Enter 1 for balance inquiry and submit.
  • A confirmation screen will appear displaying the available balance.

Mini Statement using USSD:

  • Dial *99# from your mobile handset.
  • Please enter the short name of the bank to be confirmed or the first 4 letters of the IFSC code to be confirmed.
  • After entering valid IFSC code or short name, a menu will appear with different options of available services.
  • Enter 2 for mini statement and submit.
  • A confirmation screen will appear showing the mini statement.

M-Pin generation:
To reiterate, MPIN is an additional security feature for financial transactions. This is a onetime activity required till the need for changing the MPIN. The complete process flow to generate and change MPIN is as follows:

  • Dial *99# from your mobile handset.
  • Please enter the short name of the bank to be confirmed or the first 4 letters of the IFSC code to be confirmed.
  • After entering valid IFSC code or short name a menu will appear with different options of available services.
  • Enter 5 for MPIN services.
  • Enter 1 for MPIN generation.
  • Please choose and enter a four digit number of preference for MPIN.
  • Please re-enter the same four digit number separated by space to confirm.
  • Please enter the last 6 digits of card number followed by a space and then the expiry date of the card in MMYY format.
  • A screen will appear showing the confirmation.

Please follow the following process in the event of updating MPIN.

  • Dial *99# from your mobile handset.
  • Please enter the short name of the bank to be confirmed or the first 4 letters of the IFSC code to be confirmed.
  • After entering valid IFSC code or short name a menu will appear with different options of available services.
  • Enter 5 for MPIN services.
  • Please enter the short name of the bank ­­­to be confirmed or the first 4 letters of IFSC code to be confirmed.
  • After entering valid IFS code or short name, menu will appear with different options of available services enabled for your bank.
  • Enter 5 for MPIN.
  • Enter 2 for changing MPIN.
  • Enter old MPIN.
  • Enter new MPIN.
  • Re-enter new MPIN.
  • A screen will appear showing the confirmation.

MMID retrieval:

  • Using this service, the customer can know the MMID allotted to them by ESAF SFB. The complete
  • Dial *99# from your mobile handset.
  • Please enter the short name of the bank ­­­to be confirmed or the first 4 letters of IFSC code to be confirmed.
  • After entering valid IFS code or short name, menu will appear with different options of available services.
  • Enter 6 to know your MMID.
  • A confirmation screen will appear displaying MMID linked to your account.
Financial services:

Fund transfer using IFSC and account number:
The USSD services can be used by customers for transferring funds using IFSC and Account number of the beneficiary. The complete process is as follows.

  • Dial *99# from your mobile handset.
  • Please enter the short name of the bank ­­­to be confirmed or the first 4 letters of IFSC code to be confirmed.
  • After entering valid IFSC code or short name, a menu will appear with different options of available services.
  • Enter 4 for funds transferring using IFSC and account number.
  • In the Subsequent screen, please enter the beneficiary IFSC code, beneficiary account number, amount with remarks (optional).
  • Please enter MPIN.
  • A screen will appear showing confirmation of whether the transaction was successful or not.

Fund transfer using mobile number and MMID:
The USSD services can be used by customers for transferring funds using IFSC and Account number of the beneficiary. The complete process is as follows.

  • Dial *99# from your mobile handset.
  • Please enter the short name of the bank ­­­to be confirmed or the first 4 letters of IFSC code to be confirmed.
  • After entering valid IFSC code or short name, a menu will appear with different options of available services.
  • Enter 3 for transferring funds using mobile number and MMID.
  • In the Subsequent screens, please enter the beneficiary mobile number, MMID, amount with remarks (optional).
  • Please enter MPIN.
  • A screen will appear showing the confirmation.

Some of the important information with regards to USSD banking are the following:

  • The USSD services can be availed only from the registered mobile number. USSD banking does not require data or internet connection (GPRS) and can be availed anytime.
  • The USSD banking services are accessible from GSM mobile phones only and not on CDMA Phones.
  • The daily limit for financial transactions using USSD banking is to be decided
  • ESAF SFB does not levy any charges for USSD Banking. However, the telecom service provider might charge up to Rs 1.5 per USSD session.
  • The USSD banking services are available to customers using the mobile network of Aircel, Airtel, BSNL, IDEA, MTNL, Reliance, TATA, Uninor, Vodafone and Videocon.
